Finished at last!

A couple of months ago I finished sewing a rag quilt for my almost five month old grandson but I procrastinated about doing the washing and drying part to completely finish off it so made sure I got that done today as I am sending up a box of goodies up on the bus to my grandchildren in the Outback this week. They won't be visiting for Christmas so it will be a quiet one here.

After the rain...

This past week has been a wet one for many areas of Queensland and while we didn't receive anything like the rainfall totals experienced by those on the coast etc. we did manage to pick up some decent totals. Some areas of the garden are like a jungle which gets me down as I can't dig out all the weeds as some have just grown so tall and thick so I took a break from attacking it all to see how the flowers and veggies have benefited from the recent rain.

It's Market Time

At this time of year there seem to be markets popping up everywhere. Yesterday Hand Made Under the Stars  was held at the Cobb and Co Museum and as usual it featured a vast array of crafts which would make great Christmas gifts. Yesterday was also the start of the Bush Christmas Exhibition which finishes on the 9th December.

A Christmas Giveaway

I have mentioned before that I have some friends who are really talented and creative when it comes to sewing, quilting, craftwork, crochet, knitting and so on. One of those lovely friends has asked me if I would like to have a little giveaway on my blog and she has made a couple of beautifully made potholders which would be so very useful in the kitchen or to give away for Christmas.
